Shubh Mangal Saavdhan (English: The auspicious time of marriage) is a 2014 Indian Hindi-language romantic comedy film directed by David Dhawan and produced by Neeraj Pandey. The film stars Arjun Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor in the lead roles, along with an ensemble cast including Ajay Devgn, Parineeti Chopra, Prosenjit Chatterjee, Mohit Marwah and Saurabh Shukla. The movie is based on the 2013 novel of the same name written by author Uday Prakash Kumar in Bengali language. It was released in India on 11 December 2014. The film received mixed reviews from critics, who praised the performances by Arjun Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor in particular, but criticized the weak script. The film holds a 50% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes . It has an Audience Score of 54% on India-based website "Bajrangi Bhaijaan". According to Rotten Tomatoes, after a slow start, "Shubh Mangal Saavdhan" became a commercial success despite being an average movie. The film earned 8.5 Crore from Box Office India. However it earned much less overseas than expected in USA and Canada . The film's music is composed by Sajid-Wajid while the lyrics are penned by Shabbir Ahmed. The full audio was launched on 15 November 2014. The music rights are acquired by T-Series. Revolver Entertainment will release the film in UK cinemas from 20 May 2015.In September 2014, it was announced that a Bengali adaptation of the film titled "Antarmahal" would also be released simultaneously alongside its Hindi version. It is directed by Aniruddha Roy Chowdhury and stars Parambrata Chatterjee and Srabanti Chatterjee in lead roles. The shoot of the film started in August 2014. It was released on 20 December 2014.
